March Round-Up & Promotions
It’s been a busy couple of weeks at Atlas and we’ve been experiencing some impressive growth. This post marks the first in a series of monthly updates on what’s been going on in the unit and what you can expect in the coming months.
Meetings
We’ve successfully had our first round of admin meetings and public meetings with our players. These have resulted in a number of new developments which we hope will continue to improve the experience players have in our community. Some highlights from these meetings include:
- Developments to the website – we’ve added space to post announcements (like this one), operation photos and most recently a calendar where we’ll be uploading our main events and training sessions.
- Developments to our training – Sgt. Fat Gorilla has been working with his team to start rolling out basic training across the unit. We’ve already run sessions on squad leading and map skills and have specialised sessions planned for the future, with the training staff currently developing a custom mission file for us to practice on.
- Streamlining our mods – we’ve now switched to using Arma3Sync to manage our mods. This should make the whole process of using mods simpler and will ensure you’re always up-to-date. Use this guide to help you get set up. Any issues – just use the support channel in Discord and we’ll be happy to help.
- Adding mods – every month we’ll be reviewing our modlist to make sure our players are getting the best experience on our server. By popular demand, we’ll be adding the Backpack On Chest mod to the server. This will allow mission makers to create paradrop-type missions, allowing players to retain their kit after they land.
Promotions
To recognise players who commit their time to improving the community, we’ll be having promotions every month. This month, the following players have received promotions:
Cpl. Maelstrom
Solid guy. Known for his quirky headgear and interesting use of flashbangs, Maelstrom has been with us from nearly the beginning. He’s been showing up regularly and taking the time to make the community an enjoyable place to be. Hats off to you 🙂
Pfc. 2FPS_Warrior
Another regular face at our ops. Drops some serious one liners and is a pleasure to play with. Warrior might also have the record for time spent in our Teamspeak server so there’s that too. Always good fun to talk to and well deserving of the promotion.
Pfc. Whama
He’s the unofficial president and commander-in-chief of the unit and we’re pretty sure he can blow stuff up using only the power of his mind. On top that he’s been attending virtually every single operation we’ve had since the beginning. I don’t think there’s a single person in the unit who doesn’t have a soft spot for Whama. Enjoy the mystical power of Pfc tags.

Final Words
And that concludes our first ever monthly round-up! As always, please reach out to the admin team with any feedback/recommendations/bugs etc and keep on turning up to the ops. A big thank you to everyone in the community and all the time you guys put into giving us a fun, relaxed place to play Arma.
Much love,
Lt. Col. Grumpoo 😉
